Going further with the Docking Pin

Blair, from Queensland Australia, always wanted a docking pin, but didn’t want it to interfere or get in the way when it wasn’t being used.

When he heard about our retractable docking pin, he knew he had to have one on his new Frontier V4 RWD.

Docking pins are a great way to safely tether in a car, whether you’re driving or a passenger. Watch our video here:

Magic Mobility’s docking pin is retractable, stowing safely within your chair and out of the way when not in use. This improves clearance and helps wheelchair users avoid getting caught or stuck.

The retractable docking pin allows Blair to go off road and travel safely in the car.

Blair says that he wanted a docking pin in his previous chair, but decided against it because he was concerned that it would interfere and get caught on objects.

After trialling five different power wheelchairs, Blair chose the Frontier V4 RWD, and was excited when he heard about the retractable docking pin option.

“The fact that it’s retractable is a real winner,” Blair said. “It takes away any concern of the docking pin getting caught, particularly when driving full speed.

“It simplifies travelling in the car and saves a huge amount of time getting in and out. It’s much easier.”

The retractable docking pin is operated from the joystick, and has been fully crash tested to ISO. The retractable docking pin is available on Fontier V4 front and rear wheel drive models and Frontier V6 mid wheel drive. It can also be retrofitted to older models.
