Ash Daff wins award

Magic Mobility co-founder and current R&D Director, Ashley Daff, was recently recognised by the association of Assistive Technology Suppliers Australia (ATSA) as an outstanding individual who has helped shape, grow and elevate the industry in remarkable ways.

His Acknowledgment to Service to Industry Award recognised Ash as a true innovator, adventurer and advocate in the world of assistive technology. Ash’s passion for equipping people to access and enjoy a world that’s not flat has shaped the team culture at Magic Mobility, which strives to continuously improve our powerchairs in ways that enable people with limited mobility to do more and go further in safety and comfort.

Ash says “our customers should be able to get out and go wherever they want, and the terrain shouldn’t prohibit them.”

Starting out by studying prosthetics and orthotics, Ash has always approached powerchair design as a critical enabler of lifestyle choice and inclusion.

Ash says, “Our customers should be able to get out and go wherever they want, and the terrain shouldn’t prohibit them.” As well as leading the engineering design team at Magic Mobility’s head office and manufacturing facility in Melbourne, Ash has always been a strong advocate for the social and economic benefits of funding technology that enables wheelchair users to go wherever and do whatever they choose (within their capabilities). He is proud of building wheelchairs by focusing on the people who use them first and foremost, including innovations that enable every chair we make to be tailored to each person. “Everyone is different, and everyone’s priorities are different,” Ash says.
