Travel is easy with your powerchair

You can easily remove your joystick when your chair goes into the plane’s cargo hold.

Travel is one of life’s great joys and at Magic Mobility our powerchairs enable you to explore a world that’s not flat, get out onto the wide-open road, and experience true freedom.

So when we received questions from our customers like “how can I manage my powerchair so that I can drive a car, load it into an everyday wagon, or take it in a plane’s cargo hold without risking damage” we responded by adding four travel-related products to our growing range. Our new retractable docking pin, fold-forward backrest, removable MPS back and quick release joystick, are designed to make travel simpler and easier.

Driving a car is easy with the retractable docking pin.

We understand how important is it to get around. Owning and driving your own vehicle is an important part of any individual’s independence.

Docking pins are not new, but at Magic Mobility we went one step further. When our docking pin is not in use, it retracts safely inside the wheelchair frame.

Reduced ground clearance, particularly when travelling over uneven terrains or catching on curbs and other obstacles is now a thing of the past.

You operate the docking pin through a joystick, simply pressing a button to give you ease of movement. The docking pin locks into position, giving you greater confidence.

Activate your docking pin through your joystick.

It’s a simple, yet elegant solution, and gives you back something more precious. Time. So much time is wasted simply trying to get from one location to another – and our retractable docking pin is an innovative solution to a constant problem.

And it’s not just us that think this is a good idea! The ATSA Independent Living Expo awarded us ‘Most Innovative New Product for 2016’. Clare Daff, our Engineering Manager proudly accepted the award.

Our retractable docking pin comes as an optional feature on our Frontier V6 and V4 models, and our Magic 360 models. Please note: docking pins are not available on our outdoor powerchairs (Extreme X8, XT2 or XT4).
