So, we’re letting you in on a few battery hacks and tips on managing your Magic Mobility battery and showing you how you can get what you need from them.
You need to run your battery in as they take some time to get up to their full potential. So when you first use your battery, make sure it’s fully charged first time. New batteries do take longer to get to full charge, so be patient.
While it might be tempting to push your battery till it’s well into the red, it’s definitely not a healthy practice!
Choose carefully where you’re going to power up your battery. Make sure it’s a convenient location because this will cut down any hassle, giving you more time in your chair on adventures, rather than spending time lugging your battery about. If you get a chance before you settle on your new powerchair, make sure you give some thought to storage and maintenance beforehand.
If you use your chair infrequently, don’t forget to charge the batteries regularly. Just like a car, it’s important not to leave the batteries constantly charging, but not to forget to charge them at all! If you’re not going to be using your chair for a while, leave yourself a note to charge the battery now and again.
Store your battery somewhere warm. If the temperature drops below 10 degrees, your battery might not perform as well.
Weight makes all the difference to performance. If you load up your chair with baggage, you’ll find it won’t go as far. And make sure you take into account the terrain you’re covering. Get the right tyre pressure for the environments you’re tackling, and your battery will absolutely go the distance!
