Drive an Extreme X8 on an Aussie beach
Located on Sydney’s Northern Beaches is a world-first resort, designed specifically for people living with spinal cord injuries. The resort offers guests the chance to cruise the beach in an Extreme X8 and enjoy the sunshine.
Sargood on Collaroy is a place where people living with spinal injuries can get some respite and experience just how much is possible with the right support and technology.
The resort is available for:
- Australians with NDIS funding for short-term accommodation
- Australians eligible for funding from NSW’s icare
- Adults with non-progressive spinal cord injuries who can afford to pay privately
The family-friendly resort offers a wide array of fun activities, including the opportunity to drive a Magic Mobility Extreme X8 along beautiful Collaroy beach.
You can learn more about Sargood’s accessible activities here.
And good news for people travelling to Melbourne’s famous St Kilda beach – the local council has trialled the option to hire out an Extreme X8 for up to 1.5 hours from the St Kilda Surf Lifesaving club.
The initial trial finished on Sunday 2 April, so let’s hope it was a success and that we can see an Extreme X8 become a regular fixture on the beach! To find out more, check out the Port Phillip Council’s Accessible Beaches program here.
