Shooting the troubles away with your joystick

One of the most essential parts of your powerchair is your joystick. For so many it’s an extension of their body and helps guide their day to day adventures. So, what happens when something goes wrong? We’ve got a video to step you through it!

Joysticks are a critical feature to control a powered wheelchair and can come in a variety of models. They can seem daunting with their LCD screens and Bluetooth connectivity, and people can understandably feel anxious when things go a little wrong.

There are a few things you can try to troubleshoot joystick issues at home to deal with the common problems.  For instance, are you noticing that your joystick is sluggish, or won’t drive? The most common repair issues are a result of worn parts, old parts, damaged parts, and overuse or improper use of the joystick. While we can’t replace your joystick at home we can certainly give some hints on how to troubleshoot some problems, and you can then spend less time worrying about it!
