The Extreme X8 enabling resort visitors to explore the great outdoors

Visitors to Sargood on Collaroy on Sydney’s northern beaches are reaping the benefits of staying at a bespoke resort created exclusively for spinal cord injury clients. During their stay, visitors can easily access one of Australia’s most beautiful beaches in the two Extreme X8s, which have been purchased by the resort for therapy and activity outdoors.

The Extreme X8s were chosen because of their off-road capabilities, in particular the knobby tyres, which are perfect on soft, sandy terrain, and enable resort visitors to venture onto the beach for long walks or to do some fishing.

The wellness retreat places great emphasis on the physical and mental benefits of being out in nature. As one guest puts it “my husband has always been a “water-baby” before his spinal injury and it’s been a tough thing for him to go to the beach because he misses the sensations of his past life of swimming, fishing, bodysurfing and even barbecuing. All of these experiences are available to him now at Sargood and with gentle staff, peaceful surrounds and first-rate equipment like the 4WD (Magic Mobility X8) wheelchair”.

Built with powerful motors on each of its 14-inch off-road tyres, the Extreme X8 is the perfect powerchair to tackle the sand and often steep entry to and exit from the beach.

For people with spinal cord injuries, getting on with life in a wheelchair often means trying to pick up where their life left off before their injury. In these instances, the right wheelchair can make a huge difference to their ability to achieve their goals.

For those with spinal injuries, Magic Mobility’s Extreme X8 is a popular choice. It suits people who have a love of the outdoors and a physical lifestyle.

The Extreme X8 also helps users connect with family and friends wherever they choose to go. The added benefit of a lift function not only enables users to hear things in high places, but interact eye to eye.

Magic Mobility is a proud donor to Sargood on Collaroy and had the privilege of visiting the new resort earlier this year and can highly recommend it to anyone with a spinal injury and their family.
