What’s New? Improved Thoracic Supports

Thoracic supports are an important part of your seating arrangement, as they can impact head and upper extremity control, as well as respiratory function. Our engineering team have been busy at work on improving the brackets for thoracic supports.

The new brackets have been designed to improve your thoracic supports in addition to the MPS backrest, and give you more options for swing away supports.

Thoracic supports are an important part of your seating set up, as they can impact head and upper extremity control, as well as your respiratory function.

They provide support for the torso, and can improve positioning, stability and posture.

Because they provide stability and maintain the user’s position, thoracic supports can also reduce the need for repositioning throughout the day.

Thoracic supports are now easier to fit with new brackets for MPS backrests. They are available in adjustable and swing away options.

The swing away options are operated with a manual button on the side of the backrest, and make getting into and out of the wheelchair much easier.

Thoracic supports must be fitted by a trained professional, as incorrect placement can cause discomfort or render the supports ineffective.
